Penarth's Boomerang Group lands lucrative S4C deal for Welsh Children's Programming

CARDIFF-BASED production television company, Boomerang, has secured a lucrative contract to provide S4C with programme continuity coverage for its children's output.

Boomerang won the two-year contract, worth around £1.8m annually, in a competitive tender - which included counter bids from the likes of media companies Presentable and Tinopolis.

As part of its outsourcing strategy, S4C's in-house programme link content - under its Planed Plant and Planed Plant Bach platforms - will be provided by Boomerang from October.

The contract also covers interactive link content, including the web and text.

S4C's director of commissioning, Rhian Gibson, said, 'Providing the best possible service for children is one of S4C's key aims and this contract won by Boomerang, denotes the latest exciting step in our commitment to this genre.'
